Surprises are the BEST (most of the time) and lately I have been showered with people, who I love, just stopping by. A friend recently said surprise guests are underrated and underused (I think that is what was said) and I most whole heartedly agree. Lately though so many of my delightful friends have just stopped by. Best part is they don't live in Charleston!
Rachel is the co-founder and only other member of S.B.S. We have grown up together (she is my cousin after all). I've been around for everything from "just what I always wanted" moments to "I can't do it" moments. I am 150% convinced the Lord has big plans for this gal.
Jane! Jane King! This was literally like the Lord said "poof here she is". I was just telling Becca, literally 10 minutes earlier, that I wanted to call Jane to catch up then what happens? My phone rings and Jane says "You at home? Good I'll be there in 20" WHAT? She had come in from school. Jane and I have great convo. She is such a joy to be around and will tell the FUNNIEST stories ever. She is also great to play "remember when" with. Remember when I was crying at Panera because you were on a roll!?!?!?!
Finally, my dearest Genna. She started all the visits! She popped by to see Becca and I after we briefly saw her at Oglebay. Whether it is 5 minutes or 5 days it is NEVER enough time with this girl. She came by and made dinner (check out CPL's blog for that delicious recipe) and just sat and talked. This girl has jokes! Jokes! She also has a tender heart for her friends and whether it is by laughing, crying, or just sitting you always feel loved when she leaves.
With all the surprise visits happening for me, I just had to pay it forward and one of my absolute favorite people to surprise is Laura Tuel! (Perk I got to see Ben too... kids were napping and at school).
I ALWAYS, maybe a little too much, used to do the random drop by visit at the Tuel house. It has been something that I have missed in my life since they moved to Morgantown. It is hard to replace that!!! I was so excited, and it was hard to keep it a secret, when I just decided to "drop in" on Monday on my way back from Pittsburgh. She was genuinely surprised. Success! (Aren't they the cutest family ever?)
