John, I wish I were a Sommerville, Landis

While the Sommerville's are pretty tough on non-bloods, the ones we like the most are the ones who don't take it laying down. John has always fit right in! For today and today ONLY we will consider him full blooded.

I like John mostly because he likes my sister. It all started with a guy who wanted a date with a cute blonde and a girl who said no. The no didn't stop John, which is why he fits in well with the posse, and he told her he'd pick her up in 30 minutes and hung up on her. His plan worked because within the year they married. He gets the best dad award today because he helped bring little Ethan into the world, and well that little one has stolen my heart since he was in the womb. Side note Ethan was 2 weeks overdue but waited till I was in Morgantown on business to make his entrance, when I walk into the room he only has eyes, smiles, and laughs for me (John is still upset about that). Now combine him creating Ethan with the fact that he puts up with me, makes Megan laugh all the time, and is 100% hands on with fatherhood and husbandry... I guess he can pass for one of us, but only today.

John even with his red meat eating, football obsessed self is a good guy who fits perfectly into this group because he can say no to us Charleston Sommerville girls and put us in our place and live to tell about it. He cares for my sister incredibly well and it has been a long time since I've seen a couple be able to have so much fun together. They have no secrets, what you get is what you see. If I tell Megan she is being needy, John says she is needy but I knew it from the jump. John doesn't sugar coat things and when I comment Megan said I knew it when I got into it.

Favorite Memories:

-John is my go to guy for guy advice. Which is really funny because I listen to nothing he says yet act like what he says is the written word

-John when wanting to fix my cousin up with his former bro-mance "He is a christian, his mom listens to K-Love"

-I love that my dad loves him... he is the son my dad ALWAYS wanted and finally got.

- He is not afraid to bite back! Whether or not we are mocking him for something or I had the sudden urge to punch him hard... he always is on top of his game of dishing out what he takes!

-He thinks Megan and I are crazy together, but still loves her even when I'm around.

-ETHAN! Enough said!

My least favorite memory:

-He is allergic to poultry... ruining family dinners till we die!
