New Year's Eve is always something that feels like it falls a little short. A friend and I were talking at the gym the other day and she said that she felt like no matter how great her plans were they were never really cool enough. I've party hopped the last couple of years and made appearances at different places and this year was
no different, except for by the end of the night I felt like I had successfully brought in the new year. It started with delicious sushi with my dad where we ate too much and laughed a lot about my brother in law (who does a perfect impression of my dad lol). Then I headed over to the Isaacs' to get beautiful for the night ahead. We did our hair, our make-up and got all gussied up for the night of dancing and celebrating that awaited. A friend had a birthday/new year's eve party where we danced the night away. I was planning on ducking out relatively early to head to another get together but started dancing and before I knew it midnight was getting closer and closer. I left and headed over to John's around 10:30 where Shawna, Jaclyn, Lindsay and Genna were. When I got there we played Catch Phrase and just hung out. It was a great way to ring in the New Year- no pressure that plans weren't good enough or that I was somehow the awkward person in all party situations... it was me doing everything I loved: hanging out, dancing, laughing, and playing board games. Being me, a good way to start 2009.
Currently I'm packing and getting ready to fly out to Georgia on Monday, will blog about my time there!
