Funny Story

Friday night I'm putting the kids to bed around 9:30 and we are all upstairs being tucked into bed.  All of a sudden there is pounding on the front door, Murphy (the dog) goes crazy and runs downstairs to stand guard, all the kids look at me and I have no idea what to do.  You can't really peek and see who is at the front door because there is NO good angle to discreetly look out.  So I head downstairs and outside on the front porch are people in ski masks.  At this point my heart is going 50 miles an hour and then I hear giggling.  Ski masks and giggling???   Its a couple of freshman girls who are going sleigh riding.  Talk about panic attack!
Then around 11:15 that same night I'm upstairs in bed reading (The Red Tent- good book).  I had noticed earlier in the evening a bat in my room.  I hear pounding again.  Murphy going crazy.  I go to see who it is, I knew it wasn't the girls again so I grabbed the bat.  It turns out it was their neighbor, and a good friend of mine- Brad.  He and his son were coming home and saw the car light was on because the door had been frozen and didn't close all the way.  Needless to say I didn't need my bat but what makes the story even more funny is I'm not sure my bat would have helped because it was a PLASTIC WIFFLE BALL bat lol... not real intimidating!!!
