So I left my camera in my room so I have no pictures of my glorious wetsuit... aren't you lucky?!?!?! I swam with the manatees today. It was amazing. As we were heading out I was a little on the nervous side and it took awhile for me to get adjusted with everything once I was in. They were AMAZING though. The first location we stopped wasn't all that great, mostly b/c there weren't a lot of them around and the water was pretty murky, but our second location was fantastic. It was crystal clear water, and TONS of manatees, even "babies". I put them in quotation marks b/c the captain told me they were juvies but they looked so small compared to the others. They were incredible. My don't disturb their habitat came out. I touched a few but mostly just watched as they swam by, slept or ate. It was so neat. It was so sad though to see the marks on them from boat propellers :( As my sister would say... they are ENDANGERED and we should just save them! I've included a picture of my professor on here, he and his wife left yesterday. He did a little name dropping before he left though : Patricia Heaton and her family and Joel from The Soup on E are in his Sunday School class :) CRAZY!
Some things have been on my heart for awhile, before I left Charleston and here in Florida as well. The idea of truly resting in Christ. Just sitting at his feet doing nothing and letting him look at you. It is a lot harder than it sounds. I must confess that I am beginning to love doing this. The images Christ has shared with me are truly amazing. Today though I sat by the river in hopes of just resting. I was unable. It isn't always easy, yet I will continue to try! I hope all is well back at home I"ll be back soon!
