Fun random day!
Today was an interesting yet exciting day. The interesting part didn't really begin until the afternoon. This afternoon a group of us went to the Gulf to take a look. While still a little bit away from the beach we noticed an odd site- a chemical plant. Now while I see them all the time I did not expect to see one so close to the beach. In fact it was so close that apparently it has spilled into the ocean. There were signs posted for no swimming and an advisory sign for the last date that the water was tested, January 10th. The beach was so soggy and the smell was disgusting- not what I thought an afternoon at the beach would be like. Then after coming back from a much shorter trip than I had imagined. My roomie and I decided to take a little nap and watch part of a movie to just relax before our class this evening. Around 5:45 I started hearing a strange sound, the sound of water dripping. I have heard this sound before when my ceiling was leaking so I LEAPED up and ran towards the sound I heard. Sure enough in our little hallway in front of our bathroom and door there was water pouring from the ceiling, quite quickly and a lot. I called the front desk, they said they'd send someone down. Well a minute or so went by it kept getting worse so I ran down the hall to tell them it wasn't just a little bit of water. I found the maintence man casually walking down the hall. A pipe up above us had busted and we got most of the water in our room. It was an interesting day. Then after all that excitement I got to go sit in class for two hours to my first class taught by Chap Clark. I'm so excited for this week and his teaching. Thats all from down here in Florida. Hope all is well and no water is rushing into your home :)
