Big Kick: Day 1

Big Kick: River Ridge's vacation bible school, no crafts.... just the Gospel and soccer.  I've been involved in Big Kick many ways the past four years.  I don't know if it is because they are trying to find a fit.. or I fit in anywhere... hmmmmm

• Year 1: assistant coach of 4 yr olds.  (assistant to a jr high boy... Graham and I had a blast).  I know NOTHING about soccer
• Year 2: I was co-director with Laura.  Boy am I glad that year is over.  haha.  
• Years 3&4: program.

This year? Speaking.  It was funny JB asked me to do program and I agreed then about 4 days later Betsy called and asked me to speak.  I was completely torn, split right down the center.  I love and MISS so terribly much speaking but this wasn't speaking to my high school friends this was talking to preschoolers and kids in grade school.  Eeeek.  They scare me!  SCARE ME! High school friends I know aren't going to laugh at my jokes but they are going to laugh at me laughing at my jokes (right Bethanne?) I'm not a big prop or object lesson speaker... this was going to be all object lessons.  I agreed.

So here we go.  Tonight.  Night one.  God is Creator.   Pray that I would use scripture accurately.  Pray for huddle time (which is where kids sit and talk with their coaches about our God Time.  Pray that I would be bold and my nerves would be calmed.  Oh the Lord is so good.  I am humbled by the fact that He continually chooses to use me in ways that I consider myself so utterly unfit.
