Maybe Next Year Jerusalem

Here are the anxiously awaited Passover Seder Pics!  It was a great Passover and I loved celebrating it with these beautiful ladies.  It was a group effort and everyone brought a special part of this wonderful meal.  I stole these pictures from Bethany.  To hear her wonderful takeaways and her p.o.v.  go to her fabulous blog.  (click here).

I look terrified here because I was in charge of the lamb.  First time cooking it and I must say... SUCCESS!  Katie cut it for me because I was terrified I'd mess that part up and I was nervous because I thought it might be overcooked.  I struggled with the meat thermometer a bit.
SUCCESS!  Perfectly cooked.  Perfectly cut.  Thanks Katie!

Becca is adding the parsley to the plates.  We used it to dip in salt water to remember the hyssop branches that the Israelites used to cover their doors with the blood of the lamb and the salt water represented the tears shed while in slavery.

It isn't a traditional Seder plate but it works.  Missing the lamb bone (we couldn't get it out and no meat market here was selling them separately and yes I called.

Beautiful table-scape.  Thanks Bethany

We were washing our hands, traditionally done by the men at the table but since it was just us ladies because all our men were traveling out of town we took part in breaking the curses against our families.

The first take of our group pic.  If Bethany weren't missing this would be my favorite because this is how we all normally look!

I already blogged about my takeaways from dinner.  To see those go here. (When did I become obsessed with making links to other blogs or pages? Sheesh).

At the end of dinner the Israelites would say "Maybe next year Jerusalem" because they wandered and were displaced for so many years, saying maybe next year we will be home. As christians we know we are in the world but not of the world so this is not our home.  Living to maybe someday finally being home.
