Labor Day Camping.

I just got back from my annual family camping extravaganza.  This year it was fairly calm and laid back, I didn't think I was going to die once.  Which for our family vacations is very rare.  Dad picked a great campground this year.  It was quiet and peaceful.  Our site was surrounded by trees and a creek.  So relaxing!!

Swimming-  Two types.   One in an EXTREMELY cold swimming hole, and then some swimming in a power plant heated lake, where it was the largest bath I've ever take
n.  The scenery wasn't the greatest but none the less very warm water, in the 80's.

While hiking around to get to the swimming hole, we discovered many wonderful treasures.  First of all our fearless bear hunter, Megan, doesn't really want to see a bear.  We were walking along the railroad tracks when a big something came out of the brush at a very fast, and alarming pace.  Megan grabs on to Midge (aka Kaitlin) and holds onto her saying "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, what is it?" over and over again (her voice panic stricken), while everyone else just stood there trying to see what it was.  It was NOT a bear just a deer.  Midge said" I like how Megan holds onto a 14 yr old, what am I going to do."   We also discovered a small animal's skull.  And we saw the unfortunate result of a contest between a deer and a train.  The train won we'll leave it at that.

Then we hit up Cathedral State Park for a hike among the giant Hemlock Trees.  The stats said that some were up to 21st round and 90ft tall.  Dad, Midge, and I tried to lock arms and go around one (I was cut out of the picture).
