Fellowship for a reason!!!!

John 13: Jesus washes the disciples feet.

so He got up from the meal, took off His outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around His waist. After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.   (Verse 4-5)

How many times have we heard someone speak on this scripture?  A lot and we always either skim over Jesus taking his clothes off or say something like Jesus took his clothes off and keep going to the "good stuff".  During an AMAZING campaigners tonight, full of great discussion and worship.  The question was raised, anyone else wonder why Jesus takes his clothes off? This was one of the answers to that question:

Jesus takes off his clothes and then dries the disciples feet with the clothing he was wearing.  Why not just use another towel?  Why put a new towel around him, and use his clothes to dry their feet?   Since their feet would be very dirty maybe he shows that Christ takes all of our dirt and stuff and puts it on himself.  Maybe it is showing what will happen at the crucifixion.

AND THAT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS WHY WE FELLOWSHIP AND DISCUSS SCRIPTURE.  I could have ended campaigners right there and then but we went on to finish up the scripture passage with more amazing discussion.

GREAT NIGHT!!!  How have you seen God today?
