Fiddler on the basketball court

What is currently on my calendar and circled five times and in bold writing? Five guesses ten don't count.  (what?) Tonight is the night, actually last night was but it was a girls game (before my fem friends attack) I just don't like watching girls play basketball sometimes.

WVIAC!

Most people think of this college basketball tourney as a lame-O WV tourney.  I look forward to it every year! Let us take a trip down memory lane.  My mom so gladly shared that I've been heading to the WVIAC tournament since in utero (her words not mine).  My first memories of the tournament is getting out of school early to hit up the day time games.  Megan and I would watch the cheerleaders more than the players and of course we pretended like we were cheerleaders, doing everything they did (probably better too).  Then I grew up a little and started watching the actual game.  Now during the beginning game watching phase I may or may not have been convinced I could actually prevent shots from going in by holding my thumb up so I couldn't see the hoop.  (Silly me I would never try that now, ok maybe I still do from time to time but only if I'm desperate.) Then I decided to try my hand at yelling things but the only thing I really knew was that when you missed a shot off the rim it was a brick.  So I stuck with that theme and yelled things such as "What are you building a house?!" or "BRICK".  Nothing like seeing a spunky 9 yr old blonde pip squeak shouting random things she knows nothing about.  I was cute.  Still am.  I digress.

So basically to wrap up this gush fest.  Tonight I get to hang out with Sam Sommerville doing what we do best, talking about the lack of defense and how it will always win a game, and I will rant about people not following their shots... I mean seriously don't stand there with your arm in the air PLAY BASKETBALL and be ready to REBOUND! We will sit around the same ole peeps, who've been there since I was a tiny little thing, and we will eat some stale salty popcorn.

Shhh don't tell this year I'm sneaking in a couple of homemade thin mints (Dad is gonna be so pumped!)
